일반고 고등학생의 대학전공 선택을 위한 전공별 활동, 직업, 전공교과 선호도의 변화: 2017-2021 = Changes in High School Students’ Preferences for Activities, Occupations and Major Courses to Choose College Majors between 2017 and 2021

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 일반고 학생들이 대학전공을 선택함에 있어 각 전공 및 계열에 대한 최근 5년간(2017∼2021년)의 선호도가 어떠한지 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 대학전공선택검사(KCMII)에 응시한 응답 자료 중 일반고 2학년 학생을 대상으로 성별에 따라 층화표집을 실시하여 최근 5년간 총 41,600명의 자료를 분석에 활용하였다. 연구에 활용된 대학전공선택검사로 44개 대학전공의 활동선호도, 직업선호도, 전공교과선호도를 측정할 수 있다. 분석 결과는 첫째, 최근 5년간 대학전공 선택에서 계열선호도는 의학계열이 높았고, 선호 계열 1순위 비율은 의학계열과 예체능계열이 높은 반면, 자연계열은 낮았다. 둘째, 최근 5년간 대학전공의 선호도의는 심리학이 가장 높고, 디자인, 언론･홍보･미디어, 보건･임상, 법학 전공은 높은 편에 속했으나, 종교학, 무용, 물리는 전반적으로 낮게 나타났다. 셋째, 선호 전공 1순위 비율은 심리학, 체육, 컴퓨터･정보시스템, 간호학 등이 높은 반면, 가정관리학, 무역･유통, 화학 등의 전공은 낮은 편으로, 최근 5년간 일반고 학생들의 선호 전공은 고착화된 상태이다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 고등학교에서의 고교학점제 운영 및 진로교육의 구체적인 전략과 산업계 관점에서 인적자원 활용에 대한 제언을 제시하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to examine general high school students’ preferences during the last five years from 2017 to 2021 for each major and field in choosing a college major. To this end, stratified sampling was performed with the responses of the second-year general high school students to the college major selection test (KCMII) according to gender, and the final data of 41,600 students was analyzed. The college major selection test measured preferences for activities, occupations, and major courses of 44 college majors. The results of the analysis are as follows: first, the most popular field of major for the past five years was the medical field. The fields of medicine and arts and sports ranked No. 1, while the field of natural sciences was positioned at a lower rank. Second, the most popular college major for the last five years was psychology. Design; journalism, public relations, media; health and clinical practice; and law ranked relatively higher, while religious studies, dance, and physics were generally positioned at lower ranks. Third, among the 44 college majors, psychology, physical education, computer and information system, and nursing ranked No. 1 most often, whereas home management, trade and distribution, and chemistry ranked low. Based on the results, this study suggested specific strategies for the implementation of the high school credit system and career education in high schools and the use of human resources from the industrial perspective.
