The purpose of this study was to investigate the trend and characterization of growth in childhood by longitudinal measures which were measured 4 time a year. Standing height, sitting height, body weight, chest circumference, abdominal circumference were measured for physique. The result of this study were as follows. The growth trend and characteristics of children showed near straight line increasing of age and period except abdominal circumference. The boys were higher scores in standing height, sitting height, body weight, chest circumference, abdominal circumference than girls, And the period of March - July were the fastest growth rate than the other period. Standing height, body weight, and chest circumference showed difference speed of growth according to age. Standing height, sitting height, and chest circumference showed difference speed of growth according to the period of each age. The growth in childhood showed difference trend according to the period, age, and sex. Thus, teachers in physical education class must consider the trend ad characteristics of growth for children aged 4 to 6 by age, ses and period of each age.
