배우자 사별 노인의 복잡성비애 위험요인 = Predictors of Complicated Grief among Korean Older People

While the concept of complicated grief has not yet been fully characterized in the literature, complicated grief is conceptualized as distinct from depression and PTSD in Western cultures. The present study examined risk factors of complicated grief in 859 Korean adults over age 65. This study identified that being male, lower age, higher death anxiety, and having experience of suicidal bereavement were associated with higher level of complicated grief. The ICG-K may help to identify individuals at risk for complicated grief in order to help practitioners to target interventions effectively.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 배우자 사별 노인의 복잡성비애에 미치는 위험요인을 탐색하여 적합한 개입방안의 근거를 제공하기 위한 목적으로 수행되었다. 복잡성비애는 우리나라에 아직 잘 소개되지 않았지만, 우울증, PTSD와는 구별되는 사별 후 심리장애로 알려져 있다. 본 연구는 △△에 거주하는 65세 이상 노인들 중 배우자를 사별한 859명을 대상으로 복잡성비애와 위험요인들을 조사하여 분석하였다. 복잡성비애의 총점과 하위 요인인 분리 고통, 트라우마성 고통을 종속 변수로 이용한 회귀 모형을 통해, 성별, 나이, 죽음 불안, 자살로 인한 사별의 경험이 복잡성비애 변수들과 관련이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 남성일수록, 나이가 적을수록, 죽음 불안 수준이 높을수록, 자살로 인한 사별의 경험이 있을수록 복잡성비애 수준이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 죽음 불안의 완화와 자살로 인한 사별을 경험한 노인들을 대상으로 한 개입프로그램의 필요할 것으로 생각된다.
