전시콘텐츠에서 AI의 매체적 특성: <AI: More than Human> 전시를 중심으로 = Media Characteristics of AI in Exhibition Contents: Insight from <AI: More than Human>

We have met exhibition contents about artificial intelligence in various forms. Perhaps the most common thing I have encountered is the form of an exhibition using immersive media. In this article, we look at the exhibition <Poetic AI> as an example. In addition, in the cultural exhibition <AI: More than Human> about AI, which focuses the most on AI, we will examine what kind of existence AI has been recognized by humanity from the past to the present and what role it is expected to play, and by presenting the functions and examples of artificial intelligence, we can make experience and memory.
When you go to an exhibition about artificial intelligence, it seems that you are looking into the technology of AI through the exhibition contents, but in reality, the exhibition contents are used as a tool to interpret the technology anew through relationships in human life. In the <AI: More than Human> exhibition contents, we were able to understand that in the past, we felt unfamiliar and distant from artificial intelligence, but we have been waiting for this existence as a tool or a hero to overcome the difficulties encountered in our daily lives. And now, we were able to acknowledge the AI that accompanies us in our daily lives and confirms that we understand and look at the world through the new perspectives they present.
In this way, AI is working as a medium that enables instant interaction based on data in our daily lives. And in the process, we can interact with multiple entities at the same time and predict the outcome.
But problems that arise from the use of artificial intelligence will have an absolute impact on our daily lives because they cause immediate interactions. Now, beyond digital, we see that a new medium called AI has emerged and is having a direct impact on our lives. And how to understand and use it, just as Robin Williams mentioned earlier that he became friendly with robots through the movie <Star Wars>, it is expected that cultural contents will play a bigger role than now so that AI and the public can get closer and use it correctly, and it seems that reflection and research on the relationship should continue.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

문화콘텐츠가 AI 시대에 접어드는 지금 어떠한 역할을 감당할 수 있을지에 대한 질문의 답을 전시콘텐츠를 통해 살펴보고자 한다. 우리는 인공지능에 대한 전시콘텐츠를 다양한 형태로 만나왔다. 가장 많이 접한 것은 실감미디어를 활용한 전시의 형태일 것이다. 본문에서는 <Poetic AI>라는 전시를 그 사례로 살펴본다. 그리고 이 글에서 가장 중점적으 로 살펴보는 AI에 관한 문화전시 <AI: More than Human>에서 과거부터 현재까지 AI는 인류에게 어떠한 존재로 인식되 었고 그에게 어떠한 역할을 기대했는지 살펴보고 인공지능의 기능과 사례를 제시함으로서 체험을 통해 경험과 기억으로 가져갈 수 있도록 한다. 우리는 인공지능을 공부하고 배워야 할 대상으로 생각해왔다. 하지만 이미 AI는 일상에서 자주 접할 수 있는 모든 영역에 편재해있고 우리는 그 관계성을 고민해야 할 것이다. 이 글을 통해 연구자는 인공지능과 인류의 관계를 어떻게 설정해가야 할 것이며 문화콘텐츠가 그 부분에서 어떻게 역할을 할 수 있는지 전시콘텐츠를 중심으 로 살펴볼 것이다.
