다문화 사회에서의 시민교육과 사회적 자본 = Korea's Civic Education and Social Capital in a Multi-cultural Society

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In this study, the youth of our country's citizenship (citizenship) and social capital (social capital) level, and educational factors related to the summary of existing research results are analyzed by region. Korean youth has showed lowest scores of trust for others, trust and confidence of foreigners among the other OECD countries. And the international community and belonging, national identity was weak in also. In addition, regional, gender, education discrimination was greater than that of religion, political opinions, hierarchy and rank. Patriarchal and sexist attitudes rather appeared to increase. Except for vote, overall political and social participation has reduced. Commitment to local community and civic organizations, labor unions and other public organizations that were low. Unlike the OECD countries, the higher the educational level, civic and social participation increased, educational level had little effect in Korea. In this result, educational features of Korea, focussed on the knowledge, technology, not on behavior and attitude, were discussed. And for the ability to resolve the direction of public education were explored.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 우리나라 청소년과 성인들의 시민성(citizenship) 및 사회적 자본(social capital) 수준과 이와 관련된 교육적 요인에 대한 기존 조사결과를 영역별로 요약하고 비교분석하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 우리나라 청소년들은 타인과 외국인에 대한 신뢰 수준이 OECD 가입국 중에서 가장 낮았으며 국제사회의 소속감, 국가 정체성에서 모두 취약한 것으로 나타났다. 청소년과 성인들에 대한 조사결과 지역, 성별, 학력에 대한 차별의식이 세대나 정치성향, 계층이나 직급, 종교의 차이보다 더 컸고, 가부장적이고 성차별적인 태도가 감소하는 것이 아니라 오히려 증가하는 경향이 나타났다. 사회참여에 있어서는 투표 참여를 제외하고는 정치ㆍ사회참여 경향이 전반적으로 감소했으며 특히, 지역사회 및 시민단체, 노동조합 등 공공조직 참여에서 낮았다. 특히 교육수준이 높을수록 사회적 참여나 시민성이 증가하는 OECD가입국들과는 달리 우리나라는 교육수준에 따른 향상효과가 거의 없었다. 이에 대해 한국교육이 개인의 지식, 기술을 배양하는 것에 초점을 두어온 문제점을 지적하고, 급속한 이민자(외국인 노동자, 국제결혼 등)의 유입으로 다원화, 다문화 사회에서 타인과 상호작용하면서 관계를 원만히 맺고 협력할 수 있으며 갈등을 관리, 해결하는 능력을 위한 시민교육의 방향을 탐색하였다.
