가정폭력상담원의 스트레스, 대처전략과 직무요인이 대리외상에 미치는 영향 = The Effect of Stress, Coping Strategies, and Job Variables on the Vicarious Trauma of Domestic Violence Counselors

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The study aims to find out the level of vicarious trauma of domestic violence counselors and the variables affecting the level of vicarious trauma. Data are gathered from 119 women counselors who work at shelters and domestic violence counseling centers in Seoul, Inchon and the Kyonggi-do area. The results are as follows:First, the level of vicarious trauma of domestic violence counselors has a mean value of 25.98. Second, a counselor’s work schedule is weakly related to the level of vicarious trauma. However, when entered in a regression analysis, a counselor's work schedule is not a significant variable affecting the level of vicarious trauma.
Third, life stress and avoidant coping strategies are variables affecting the level of vicarious trauma. Avoidant coping strategies have more influence. Thus, even when other variables are controlled, the more the counselors have life stress and the more they use avoidant coping strategies, the more they experience a higher level of vicarious trauma. Implications of the study are discussed on the support strategy from the agency and importance of self-care.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 가정폭력상담을 대상으로 하여 대리외상 실태를 알아보고, 이와 관련된 주요 변수들을 확인하였다. 조사대상자는 서울과 인천ㆍ경기의 가정폭력상담소 및 시설의 여성상담원 119명을 대상으로 하였고 우편발송을 통한 자기기입식 설문조사를 실시하였다. 본 연구의 조사결과는 다음과 같이 요약된다.
첫째, 조사대상자들의 대리외상은 평균은 25.98로서 성매매피해여성상담원의 경우보다는 낮게 나타났다. 둘째, 가정폭력상담원의 대리외상은 직무요인 중 근무시간과 약한 상관관계가 있었으나, 다중회귀분석에서는 그 영향력이 사라지는 것으로 나타났다.
셋째, 가정폭력상담원의 스트레스와 회피적 대처방식은 대리외상에 영향을 미치는 주요 요인으로 나타났다. 회피적 대처방식이 스트레스보다 더 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 가정폭력상담원이 내담자와 폭력문제를 다루면서 자신도 갖게 되는 대리외상 증상은 가정폭력상담원이 회피적 대처방식을 많이 사용할수록, 그리고 자신의 삶에서의 스트레스가 많을수록 더 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 결과를 바탕으로 가정폭력상담원에대한 기관의 지원, 가정폭력상담원의 자기관리에 대한 함의가 도출되었다.
