The aim of this study is to clarify the foundation of pedagogical recirculation through a review of existing discussions on college writing education research, particularly through the connection between education and academic domains. To this end, two aspects of research tasks in college writing education were explored. First, it identified what remains enduringly and essentially important despite changes in the educational environment. This was examined in two ways: by highlighting the importance of expanding the research horizon to include the relationship between liberal education goals and college writing education goals, thus extending the scope to socio-cultural contexts, and by emphasizing the need for in-depth reflection on key concepts that are frequently discussed in the field of college writing education.
Second, the paper emphasized the necessity of forming a systemic coalition to create a collaborative space where educational practices and research outcomes can converge. This coalition, by integrating disciplines and writing support institutions, serves as the foundation for producing more macro and comprehensive research outcomes that prior studies have failed to ensure. It also plays a crucial role as an entity capable of making policy recommendations to qualitatively improve the conditions of writing education.
