Manifestations of violence in contemporary Arab feminist poetry (selected models)

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Due to its increasing spread, violence is a social phenomenon that has attracted the attention of researchers from different specialities. A writer is one whose works, within a community, reflect a variety of occurrences that are both affecting and affected. Therefore, studying a phenomenon such as violence should highlight the role of writers as well as their dealing with it positively or negatively. The current study focus on the feminist poetry considering that a woman belong to one of the most fragile, highly exposed categories to such acts. A woman is yet to suffer various types of violence as the stereotype imposes. Meanwhile, a man is the perfect standard to which she should measure up to as well as the belittling feeling and disregard despite the status or title. As a reaction, she exhibited equally violent acts shown in her literary and poetic works to argue her treatment by society as a female and as creative being. All of it is embodied in the increasing ego, mockery, sarcasm as well as breaking the dominating cultural, social and religious contexts created by the dominating male to belittle the worth of a woman.
