루소의 시민교육: 개념, 역량 그리고 교육 = Civil Education in Rousseau: The Concept, Capabilities, and Education

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This article aims to contribute to a sort of speculations in dimension of political philosophy on civil education of Korea by defining the concept of citizen, reasoning the capabilities for it, and analyzing educational theories on them in Rousseau’s works, especially Social Contract and Emile. In doing so, this article defines Rousseau’s concept of citizen in its relationship to the concept of Republic in chapter 2. In chapter 3, this article analyses Rousseau’s critics on the nature, mores, and behavior of bourgeois in order to draw out the capabilities of a good citizen. Moreover, this article investigates Rousseau’s theories about how to cultivate such capabilities for children and men in chapter 4 and finally highlights the implications on political and educational realities in Korea.
