사회적 대우의 공정성과 결혼, 자녀가치관: 20,30대 미혼집단을 대상으로 = Fairness in Social Treatment and Attitudes Toward Marriage and Childbearing:Evidence from Unmarried Korean Adults Aged 20–39

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구의 목적은 20,30대 미혼집단을 대상으로 자신의 지적 능력, 기술, 노력, 경력 등에 대한 사회적 대우가 공정한지에 대한 인식이 결혼, 자녀출산 가치관과 어떤 관련성이 있는지를 규명하는 것이다. 이를 위해 2022년 한국인의 의식·가치관 조사에 참여한 20,30대 미혼 응답자 1,490명을 분석하였다. 분석결과, 사회로부터 공정한 대우를 받는다고 인식하는 정도는 지적 능력과 기술이 노력과 경력에 비해 상대적으로 높았다. 서열로짓분석결과, 노력과 경력에 대한 사회적 대우가 공정하다고 인식할수록 결혼과 자녀출산에 긍정적인 태도를 보였다. 반면에 지적 능력, 기술에 대한 사회적 대우의 공정성 인식은 결혼, 자녀가치관과 관련이 없었다. 노력뿐만 아니라, 지적 능력과 노력이 축적된 경력에 대한 공정한 대우는 우리 사회에 대한 긍정적인 인식과 결합되어 결혼과 자녀출산에 긍정적인 태도로 이어지고 있다. 분석결과에 기반하여 사회적 대우의 공정성 인식의 변화가 결혼, 자녀가치관 변화에 미치는 영향을 논의하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between the perception of fairness in social treatment regarding one's intellectual ability, skills, effort, and career and the values toward marriage and childbirth among unmarried individuals in their 20s and 30s. The study analyzed responses from 1,490 unmarried individuals aged 20–39 who participated in the 2022 Survey on the Consciousness and Values of Koreans. The results indicate that respondents generally perceive higher fairness in the social treatment of intellectual ability and skills compared to that of effort and career. Ordinal logistic regression analysis revealed that individuals who perceive greater fairness in the evaluation of their effort and career tend to express more favorable attitudes toward marriage and having children. In contrast, perceived fairness regarding intellectual ability and skills did not show a statistically significant association with family-related values. These findings suggest that social recognition of not only effort but also the career achievements derived from such effort and intellectual capabilities contributes to a more positive view of society, which in turn fosters more affirmative attitudes toward marriage and childbirth. Based on these findings, the study discusses how changes in the perception of fairness in social treatment could influence values related to marriage and childbirth.
