지구과학교과교육을 위한 웹기반 3차원 가상현실 기법의 활용 = The Use of 3D Virtual Reality Technique in the web-based Earth science education

This paper presents learning program using virtual reality technique for Earth science ed-ucation of middle school via the internet and has evaluated the educational effects. In the science education, the field of Earth science has many educational contents hard to observe and measure in real situation. Even if possible, it takes long time to gain the information with observation and measurement, and the teachers have many problems to teach school students. Therefore, we have developed learning program using virtual reality technique on the Web to solve the problems in the Earth science education. This program consists of five areas (meteorology, geophysics, geology, oceanography, and astronomy). The developed pro-gram has been evaluated with questionaire after learning on the Web. Our program can solve the problems of the Earth science education in real educational situation and support a basic environment for the activity of teaching and learning to the open education.
