구원론적 프락시스(praxis)로서 영성 훈련의 내적 역학 = The Inner Dynamics of the Spiritual Discipline as Soteriological Praxis

This article is to lay a theological foundation of spiritual discipline and to suggest principles and direction of the discipline by looking into views of soteriology. The article demonstrates that soteriology as God`s praxis provides a theological foundation and practical principles for spiritual discipline. It elucidates that salvation is entirely God`s praxis by looking into the subject of salvation, the relationship between God`s grace and human activities, and sanctification. This clarifies that spiritual discipline is not the purpose but the process, and how spiritual discipline goes and relates with the creative and redeeming acts of God who is working in our lives. Summing up the principles of spiritual discipline as soteriological praxis, firstly, is God`s praxis. It is not a development of certain abilities or spiritual skills but is creating a room for God to work in us and experience God`s presence. Secondly, spiritual discipline is a means by which God`s grace transforms us into the image of Jesus. It is experiencing God`s grace in the relationship with God. Thirdly, spiritual discipline is giving up our intentions to confine God in our frame. It isidentifying the essence of religious false self which is wicked and weak. Fourthly, spiritual discipline is a process of sanctification but itself should not be the purpose. It does not limit to an inner dimension, but includes a social dimension. Finally, this article suggests practical ways of listening and wisdom for making signs. Spiritual discipline as soteriological praxis focuses the view on God`s praxis, and it separates from false realities and helps to bring true unity with Christ in practice.
