《血의 淚》의 新聞連載小說的 特徵 = The Characteristics of《Hy??l-??i Nu(Bloody Tears)》as a Paper-serial Novel

After analyzing the narrative structure of <Hy??ol -??ui Nu《Bloody Tears)》, the present writer points out the following characteristics of the work as a paper-serial novel.
1. The work has a narrative structure of rendezvous of a family previously scattered in the turmoil of the Sin0-Japanese War. They all finally come to meet together in the order of Father and Mother, Father and Doughter, Mother and Doughter. The structure can be analzyedin to fifteen functional units, which are connected with the others in the manner of 'little relief→big relief→bigger relief' developed from the base pair 'ordeal-relief'.
2. The author in the age of civilization couldn't be independent from his own status as a journalist, and novels were not free from the paper because the authors were more journalists than novel writers. It is for no other reason than the author is also a journalist that he took a dominating attitude toward personae, characters and readers.
3. The author tried to motivate the narrative structure of 'ordeal-relief' by setting the suffering group in an uncivilized low grade, while holding up the rescuers to a civilized high grade. Yet, the motivation of this work resulted in a failure seeing that the action of the persons is unnatural.
