영유아 양육책임유형에 따른 조모의 삶의 만족도와 자기인식에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 비교연구 = A Comparative Study of Parental Experience of Grandmothers Providing Care for Grandchildren with Primary and Partial Responsibilities.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to compare grandmothers’ parenting experiences of grandchildren on their life satisfaction as well as self-perception of grandmothers between those with primary responsibility and those with partial responsibility. For the purpose of the study, the survey included the participation of 192 women parenting grandchildren under 6 years old and who reside in D city The results of the study indicated that there were statistically significant differences in grandmothers’ parental stress, caregiving tasks, social support, life satisfaction and self-perception between grandmothers with primary responsibilities and those with partial ones. In addition, parental stress, care giving tasks, and social support were statistically significant sources of stress in explaining the variance of life satisfaction of grandmothers with primary responsibility, while social support was the only significant stress in explaining the variance of life satisfaction of grandmothers with partial responsibility. Finally, parental stress was a significant variable in explaining the variance of self-perception of grandmothers with primary responsibility, while parental stress and care giving tasks were significant factors in explaining self-perception of grandmothers with partial responsibility. Based on the findings of this study, implications for practical services and recommendations of further study were provided.
