구한말 서양인이 본 한국 의례 일고찰 = The rites culture in Korea which westerners show in an extract for materials of civil culture exchange

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper deals with the rites in Korea, especially the ceremonies of coming-of-age, marriage, funeral and ancestor-memorial which Westerners show in an extract for materials of civil culture exchange. In a word that is the following contents under discussion.
Westerners visited Korea in the flowering season grades a positive or negative evaluation about ceremony culture in Korea. An evaluation like this seems to be difference according to recorder. In the chief cause there are the length of one's stay and depth of experience, the distinction of sex, information gathering, job, trip object, an opinion and an individual cognitive attitude. It is a matter that most of these radically feel Occidental own superiority to Western style thought or Orientalism. Expecially under no circumstances, It seems that operates cultural and brainy, racial superiority complex and religious preconception act. Therefore these main cause seems to misunderstand ceremony culture in Korea.
Westerners seem to understand and know general particulars about ceremony culture in Korea. But the majority didn't understand an essential sense. And behind the scenes they hint deflecting recognition attitude of the western focus. This is the limit.
It suggests that the coming-of-age and sacrificial rituals have being adult and conflict of embellish and lack of understanding, marriage has duplication of setting men and restricting women and prejudice, funeral rites has curiosity and a complicated procedure, negative viewpoint.
