성문화된 규정 중심의 표준어 정책 비판에 대한 오해와 재론 = Misapprehension and Re-discussion on Criticism Against Codified Rule-based Standard Language Policy

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to seek the improvement direction of current standard language policy(SLP hereafter) by organizing the major discussions about criticism against SLP and by correcting the misapprehension on criticism against SLP, specially on contentions about abolition of ‘Standard language regulation(SLR hereafter). The three major discussions of criticism against SLP are as follows: (1) criticism against the gap between SLR and linguistic reality, (2) criticism against the discriminative perceptions on standard language and dialects, and (3) criticism against codified rule-based SLP. The contentions about maintenance and improvement of SLR misapprehend a lot the contentions about abolition of SLR, for example (1) misapprehension that they deny the existence value of standard language, (2) misapprehension that they exaggerate the problems of SLR, (3) misapprehension that they ignore the limits of dictionary which substitutes for SLR, (4) misapprehension that they don’t consider the particularity of linguistic situation in Korea, (5) misapprehension that they regard the standard language as something ideological, and so on. Finally, Three improvement directions that this study suggests are as follows: (1) abolition of SLR as codified rules, (2) reorganization of The Korean Standard Dictionary(KSD) as a descriptive and prescriptive dictionary, and (3) invigoration of autonomous standard language norms by field.
