Contemporary play based on the scientific civilization is also ill, which is reflected in speed, violence, isolation, anonymity, and representability intervened in play. It is thus understood that the lives of young people today enjoying such play are also ill. This paper presents discussions based on such problematic consciousness. Classical scholars of Joseon including Nammyeong had a good time by painting pictures and playing musical instruments such as the Geomungo, Bipa, and Saenghwang when they did not read books. The merriment of their Hansujak had complementary relations with their reading. The classical scholars pursued both solitary and collective enjoyment, believing that there was true pleasure beyond the isolation of solitary and grouping of collective. Such pleasure was enjoyed based on their communion with nature. It was no exception with Nammyeong 10 Shik, who painted pictures and found the model of classical scholars in them for his solitary enjoyment and went sightseeing and had a great time at Mt. Jiri with his friends for collective enjoyment. He tried to humanize nature in the process, having infinite joy and excitement. The classical scholars including Narnmyeong eventually found their constant joy inside themselves, in their communion with mountains and rivers, and in their exclusion from external desire because they believed that their happiness and the true joy of life were there.
