Purpose: To investigate the Changes of Nutritional Index after liver resection and pancreaticoduodenectomy Method: From March 2012 to December 2016, a total 147 patients who underwent either the major hepatectomy or pancreaticoduodenectomy were enrolled in this study. All patients were evaluated with Prealbumin, CRP levels, body mass index, and nutritional risk index before the surgery and on the 7th postoperative day, and compared according to the types of operation. Result: Significant decrease of protein, albumin, Prealbumin and increase in CRP level were observed in four operation groups (Rt. hepatectomy, Lt. hepatectomy, Central bisectionectomy, PPPD). Lt. hepatectomy group showed significant decrease of BMI and NRI as well. Conclusion: Nutritional risk index, level of serum protein, albumin, Prealbumin, CRP can be useful for detecting the changes of the nutritional status after major abdominal surgery.
