      다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Eliot was one of those westners who feel acutely the peculiar fascination of oriental thoughts. His poetry and drama are deeply rooted not only to the Buddhist-like detachment but also to the same problems of time, timeless, and human anxiety as expressed in Buddhist thoughts. And especially I think so in The Family Reunion through Harry's endless agonies, his turning wheel, and his ultimate problems of human life. And Eliot's solution, too are not alien to the Buddhist thoughts. All this is the language that Buddhist understand. Yet his solution is oriental as well as universal; for the incarnate Word is at the center of the turning wheel.
Just as the Bodhissattva perceived the emptiness of five skandhas(form, sensation, thoughts, confection, conciousness) and was delivered from all his sufferings and misery, so Harry peceived the emtpiness of Eumenides and was delivered from them. Many scholars who major in Buddhist thoughts say unanimously that seven atachments (joy, anger, anxiety, thinking, sorrow, astonishmetn, fear) make his own minded delusion and have his own vain minded wave waved. Seven attachments have the same relationship as water vapour and water.
But when the water that had been made by man's own minded delusion is away from him, he attains his higher enlighenment. Both what Harry makes the wind blow in his mind and what Harry makes the wind kill in his mind are completly depended upon his mind.
Three Enmenides have the same relationship as water and water vapour. Many buddhist scholars say that the three poison(desire, scold, foolish) that had made his minled delusion is forming water vapour. But when the water vapour that had been made in his own minded delusion is away, no Eumenides are to be seen. Flesh has the same relationships as ice and water. Five shadows(phenomenal world and conscious world) have his minded delusion grown and have his vain minded ice frozen.
Mind solves every delusion. Nobody ever attained such a higher enlightenment, for man mistook water for ice. Therefore, I don't hesitate to say that ice, water vapour, and wave indicate turning world, meanwhile water indicate to the contrary. Water indicates still point. When water vapour seen in the light of emptiness, it doesn't indicate water vapour, but water.
The same can be said of his form his sensation, his thoughts, his confection, and his consciousnses. When man realizes such an substances of water, he can rescue his soul from the pain of birth, death, and anxiety. He can rescue his soul from his pains of eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, and mind. He can rescue his soul from his pains, of his form, his sound, his odour, his taste, and his object. When he realizes such a higher enlightenment of truth of water in his mind, there is no obstacles, no fear, no sufferings, no agonies, no accumultion of his aufferings, no annihilation of his sufferings in his mind. Therefore, separating from all perverted views, he reaches the final still point from turning world.
