존 칼빈과 빙엔의 힐데가르트의 영성에 관한 기독교교육적 이해: 하나님지식과 우리자신에 대한 지식을 중심으로 = Christian Educational Understanding of the Spirituality of John Calvin and Hildegard of Bingen: Focusing on Knowledge of God and Knowledge of Ourselves

This article focuses on the spirituality of Calvin and Hildegard. Calvin and Hildegard have much in common in terms of Christian spirituality. But the gap between genders, times in the 16th and 12th centuries, and the resulting differences in society, culture and worldview between men and women, pastor and nun, can not be ignored. Nevertheless, the reason why Calvin and Hildegard are dealt with together is that Calvin has an important status of Protestant theology, and Calvin's spirituality is largely discussed in Protestant spirituality. Hildegard’s spirituality could show feminine aspect of spirituality which does not be revealed to Calvin, and Medieval Christian heritage. We study Hildegard with Calvin to examine Christian spirituality with various spiritual understandings.
So we examine the relationship between Calvin 's spirituality and Hildegard’s spirituality focusing on knowledge of God, and knowledge of ourselves exploring Calvin’s Institutes and Hildegard' s three Vision books. There are similarities and differences in the spirituality of Calvin and Hildegard. We can know that we gain knowledge of God and ourselves in the process of spiritual formation. We also see that spirituality is formed by acquiring knowledge of God and ourselves from Calvin’s spirituality and Hildegard’s spirituality.
Thus, we apply this to Christian education, and propose that the direction of Christian spirituality education is centered on 'knowing', and extend the field of education from the community of faith to outside the community of faith.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 글은 칼빈과 힐데가르트의 영성을 기독교교육적으로 고찰한 논문이다. 칼빈과 힐데가르트는 기독교 영성의 관점에서 많은 공통점을 지니고 있다. 그러나 남자와 여자, 목사와 수녀, 16세기와 12세기의 성별, 시대의 간극과 이로 인한 사회와 문화와 세계관의 차이 등은 무시할 수 없다. 그럼에도 불구하고 칼빈과 힐데가르트를 함께 다루는 이유는 개신교 신학에서 칼빈이 중요한 자리를 차지하고, 개신교 영성에서 칼빈의 영성이 주요하게 논의되고 있는 점, 그리고, 힐데가르트는 칼빈에게 나타나지 않는 여성적인 측면과 중세 기독교 영성의 전통과 신비 경험이 기독교 영성에 대한 연구를 풍성하게 해 주기 때문이다. 기독교 영성의 역사에서 주요한 위치에 서 있는 힐데가르트를 칼빈과 함께 연구하면서 다양한 영성 이해를 갖고 통합하면서 기독교 영성교육에 관하여 고찰하고자 한다.
먼저, 칼빈의 기독교강요와 힐데가르트의 비전집 세 권을 중심으로 칼빈과 힐데가르트의 영성과 하나님지식과 우리자신에 대한 지식과의 관계성을 살펴보도록 한다. 칼빈과 힐데가르트의 영성에는 유사점과 차이점이 존재하며 그들 모두 영성형성 가운데 하나님지식과 우리자신에 대한 지식을 얻는 것을 볼 수 있다. 또한 하나님지식과 우리자신에 대한 지식을 통해 영적인 여정의 길을 들어가게 한 것을 알 수 있게 한다. 그리하여 이를 기독교교육적으로 적용하여 기독교 영성교육의 방향을 ‘앎’중심으로, 교육의 장을 신앙 공동체 내에서 신앙공동체 밖까지 확장하도록 재설정하게 제안하였다.
