옥시덴탈리즘으로 본 관변 이데올로기로서의 주체문학 - 총서 ‘불멸의 력사’를 중심으로 -

국문 초록 (Abstract)

옥시덴탈리즘이란 용어가 생소할 수 있는데, 오리엔탈리즘의 상대어이다. 오리엔탈리즘이 서양이 동양을 바라보는 관점이라면, 옥시덴탈리즘은 동양이 서양을 바라보는 관점이라고 할 수 있다. 오리엔탈리즘은 서양이 서양의 관점에서 동양을 재구성해서 동양을 지배하는 담론으로 활용되었다면, 옥시덴탈리즘은 동양이 동양의 관점에서 서양을 재구성해서 국내 지배 이데올로기를 강화하는 관변 이데올로기적 성격을 갖는다. 이에 본 연구는 북한 주체문학의 담론 체계가 옥시덴탈리즘의 관점에서 어떻게 구성되었는지 밝혀보려 하였다. 본 연구의 텍스트는 총서 '불멸의 력사'이며 이것을 중심으로 하여 주체문학의 관변 이데올로기성을 밝혀보았다. 이는 통일시대를 열기 위한 시대적 요청에 부응하여 북한 문학 나아가 북한 사회를 이해하는 단초가 될 수 있을 것이다.
총서 ‘불멸의 력사’는 주체문학의 성격을 총체적으로 반영하고 있다. 주체문학의 총체적 성격을 반영한 총서 ‘불멸의 력사’는 옥시덴탈리즘의 관점으로 보면 새로운 해석이 가능하다. 즉 주체문학의 주요한 성격 중의 하나인 반제국주의 담론은 미국을 위시한 서구 자본주의에 대한 대외적 투쟁보다 자국 내 경쟁적 정치집단을 숙청하고 북한 인민을 교화시키고 궁극적으로 지배하기 위한 이데올로기적 성격을 가진다. 김일성은 ‘사회주의’ 체제의 사안을 은폐하기 위해 제국주의 미국에 반대하는 담론을 관변 이데올로기로 활용하였다. 옛 소련의 맹우이자 중국의 옛 친구로서 반일 제국주의 전쟁에 함께 참전했던 김일성은 그의 사회주의 형제들과 함께 반미·반제국주의 담론에 합류했다. 북한은 중국과 더불어 서양 제국주의에 저항하는 전지구적 담론을 확산시키고자 하는 시도에 동참했다. 이러한 관변 이데올로기로서 옥시덴탈리즘이 주체문학의 반제국주의 담론에 고스란히 담겨 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The Occidentalism is more or less unfamiliar term, which is a relative term of Orientalism. If Orientalism is a point of view by which the West sees the East, Occidentalism is a point of view by which the East sees the West. If Orientalism was used as a discourse to rule the East by reconstruction of the East with the West's point of view, Occidentalism has an official ideological characteristics to enforce the domestic ruling ideology by reconstruction of the West with the East's point of view. And thus, this study is to find out how the discourse system of North Korea's Juche literature was composed by way of the Occidentalism's point of view. And also focusing on the text of this study, the series of 'the History of Immortality', this study is to inquire into the official ideological quality of Juche literature. The results and the achievements will be a beginning or an opportunity to understand North Korean literature and further North Korean society itself, meeting the demands of the times, that is, to open the age of unification.
