다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)
The development of Pyongtaek port will play a catalytic role in the process of economic development in the region. The direct and major interaction with hinterland will exert significant economic impacts on city and its vicinity. The modern port is required to paly a pivotal role in the logistics service. The logistics concept requires that all transportation and distribution systems be coordinated as one system. This new concept is bound to become the most important characteristics of the port in the years to come. Developing the port complex for these purpose will provide opportunities for both city and the port. Another new requirement for the port is to incorporate environmental considerations and spatial effects on the port-city interrelationship into their planning and management functions. Therefore, it will be vital for Pyongtaek port to be developed to perform comprehensive fuctions of logistics and high utility space in addition.
