어머니의 산전 우울감이 영아의 까다로운 기질에 미치는 영향에서 양육 스트레스의 매개효과 = Mediating Effect of Maternal Parenting Stress on Prenatal Depression and Infants` Difficult Temperament

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 출산 전 어머니의 우울감이 영아의 까다로운 기질에 영향을 미치는 데 있어서 영아기 어머니의 양육 스트레스가 매개적 역할을 하는 가를 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 육아정책연구소에서 시행한 2008년도 한국아동패널 1차 자료 중 4개월에서 10개월((N=2078)에 해당되는 영아를 양육하는 어머니를 대상으로 한 자료 중 어머니의 출산 전 우울 척도, 영아에 관한 기질 척도와 어머니의 조사 당시 양육 스트레스 척도를 분석에 사용하였고, 자료분석은 SPSS 15.0과 AMOS 4.0을 사용하여 구조방정식 모형을 적용하였다. 연구결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 어머니의 산전 우울감과 양육 스트레스가 높을수록 영아의 기질은 까다로운 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 영아의 까다로운 기질에 대한 어머니의 산전 우울감의 영향이 어머니의 양육 스트레스에 의해 완전히 매개되는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 통해 영아기 어머니의 산전 우울감과 영아의 까다로운 기질의 관계에서 어머니의 양육 스트레스가 중요한 매개효과가 있는 것을 확인하였으며, 어머니 양육 스트레스에 대한 체계적이며 다학제적 평가를 통해 아동복지 실천 및 연구를 위한 시사점을 제안하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of prenatal depression on infants` difficult temperament, and to verify the mediating effect of maternal parenting stress between prenatal depression and infants` difficult temperament. The sample consists of 2078 mothers who have infants whose age range from 4-months to 10-months, and who have been the participants of Korean Children`s Panel Survey sponsored by Korea Institute of Child Care and Educations. The mothers were asked to complete self-administered questionnaires. In this study, mothers` prenatal depression, infants` temperament, and maternal parenting stress were included. The SPSS 15.0 and the AMOS 4.0 were used for structural equation modeling. The summary of the results is as follows: First, maternal prenatal depression, maternal parenting stress, and infants` difficult temperament were positively related. Second, maternal parenting stress was proved to have a complete significant mediating effect on the relationship between prenatal depression and infants` temperament. Through this study, I demonstrated the importance of the mediating effect that maternal parenting stress has on the association between prenatal depression and infants` temperament. Implications for research and child welfare practices, especially the multidisciplinary and systematic assessments of parenting stress were discussed.
