4･3의 진실과 작가의 현실 의식 = The 4･3 Truth and the Author’s Sense of Reality

The purpose of this paper is to promote the massacre of civilians in Jeju 4·3 when the problem of national violence was not properly solved, and to aim for the relief of victims, future peace and human rights. Based on Kwak Hak-song (“Executive”), Hyun Ki-young (“Uncle Soon”), and Hyun Gil-eon (“Our Grandfather”), how the truth that the author wants to reveal is narrated. As a result, the development pattern went through the stages of “the excuse of the perpetrator who obeys”, “the pain of the victim who reprieves death”, and “the cover-up of the silent bystander”, and it was possible to narrative the victim who hid in history by revealing the clear perpetrator. The history of not reflecting or apologizing can be repeated at any time. Therefore, a healing process is essential to cut off the inheritance of violence, sympathize with the victims’ wounds, and apologize and forgive each other. In addition, this process will serve as an opportunity to promote the truth of Jeju 4.3 and protect human rights in the direction of future peace.
