The purpose of this study is to analyze the patterns of errors in the Word-Initial Law of Korean learners and to clarify their characteristics. The clauses examined in this study are exceptive clauses, and corpus analysis was conducted targeting the corpus of Korean learners in order to analyze the patterns of learners’ errors. First, among the three types of exceptive clauses in the Word-Initial Law, the type with the highest learner error rate is the error of ‘-률(Ryul)/율(Yul)’, which is about 15%. Compared to the dependent nouns error rate (0.2%), it is very high. Second, ‘율(Yul)’ error (18.1%) is about twice as high as ‘-률(Ryul)’ error (9.8%) in errors of ‘-률(Ryul)/‘-율(Yul)’. Lastly, ‘-량(Ryang)/양(Yang)’ and ‘-률(Ryul)/율(yul)’ tended not to be resolved according to the level of proficiency. The results of this study can be used as basic data for orthography education in Korean language education.
