국문 초록 (Abstract)

지난해 우리나라의 사망자 수가 사상 최대를 기록했다고 한다. 그 이유는 우리 사회 의 급속한 고령화 여파로 노인 사망자가 많이 증가한 탓이라고 한다. 통계청이 지난 09월 19일 발표한 ‘2017년 사망원인통계’에 따르면 지난해 사망자 수는 28만5534명으 로 집계됐다. 1년 전보다 4707명(1.7%) 증가한 수치로 관련 통계 작성이 시작된 1983 년 이래 가장 많고, 80세 이상이 전체 사망자의 44.8%를 차지했다. 10년 전인 2007년 과 비교하면 이 비중은 13.5%포인트 늘었다. 사망 원인으로는 암이 통계 작성 이래 부동의 1위로 전체 사망자의 27.6%로 7만8863 명이었고, 2위는 심장질환(10.8%), 3위는 뇌혈관질환(8%), 4위가 폐렴(6.8%), 그리고 자살(4.4%)이 그 뒤를 이어 5위를 차지했다. 지난해 스스로 목숨을 끊은 한국인은 1 만2463명으로 하루 평균 34.1명이나 되고, 10세에서 39세에서는 자살이 사망 원인 1 위였다. 특히 10대 사망 원인 중 자살이 차지하는 비중이 30.9%였고, 20대는 44.8%, 그리고 30대에서는 36.9%로 전체 사망 원인 중 자살이 차지하는 4,4% 보다 월등히 높았다. 이렇게 우리나라에서, 특히 10대에서 30대의 사망 원인 중 자살이 차지하는 비율이 월등히 높은 이유가 여러 가지가 있고, 이에 대한 처방도 여러 가지가 있지만 필자가 본 논문에서 제시하고자 하는 것은 ‘자살 예방을 위한 접근으로서의 성만찬에 관한 교육과 성만찬 예배의 회복’이다. 단순히 성만찬 예배의 진행을 위한 교육이 아니라 성만찬의 의미를 교육하고, 성만찬 예배를 회복함으로서 교회 공동체성을 회복하여 자살을 예방하는데 일조할 수 있으리라 본다.

Last?year?,?our?country?had?the?highest?death toll?in?its?history. The?reason?for?this is that the?death?toll of elderly people has increased significantly due to the rapid aging of our society. According to the cause?of?death?statistics in 2017 released by National Statistical Office on September 19, the death toll of last year was 285,534. It is 4707 (1.7%) higher than a year ago and the highest since 1983 when such statistics began to be reported first, and people over 80 years old were 44.8 percent of all death. Compared to 2007, this rate increased by 13.5%. In case of the?cause?of?death, cancer unyieldingly?maintained?the?first?place since the statistics were made. The number of deaths from cancer was 78.663, which was 27.6% percent of?all?deaths. The second was heart disease(10.8%), the third was cerebrovascular disease(8%), the fourth was pneumonia(6.8%), and suicide(4.4%) got the fifth place. The number of Koreans who committed?suicide last year was 12,463, which menas an average of 34.1 per day, and suicide was the number one cause of death at the age of 10 to 39. In particular, suicide accounted for 30.9% of the causes of death in teenagers, 44.8% in their 20s, and 36.9% in their 30s, which was much higher than the 4,4% of all deaths. There are many reasons why suicide is so high in Korea, especially among the teens and thirties, and many prescriptions for it have been offered, but what I want to present in this paper is 'restoration of Eucharist education and Eucharistic?adoration as an approach to preventing suicide'. I think that it can help to prevent suicide by restoring the community of church by educating the meaning of Eucharist and restoring Eucharistic?adoration, not merely as an education for the proceedings of Eucharistic?adoration.
