述而不作의 解釋學: 공자의 문화해석의 특징과 그영향사에 관하여

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 ‘述而不作의 解釋學: 공자 문화해석의 특징과 영향사에 관하여’ 라는 연구과제중 제 2 부에 속하는 연구로서 공자의 문화해석학이 어떤 양상으로 후속세대에 영향을 미치며 전개되어 나갔는지를 연구하고 있다. 앞의 연구가 삼대문화와 주공이 공자의 철학적 사유에 어떤 영향을 미쳤으며 '논어'에 나타난 공자의 철학적 사유의 특징이 무엇인가에 초점을 두었다면 본 연구는 공자의 철학적 사유가 후속세대의 철학적 경향들 속에서 어떤 영향력을 갖고 있는지를 추론하고있다. 따라서 이 연구 에서의 주된 주제는 묵적과 양주의 철학을 영향사적인 측면에서 공자철학과의 상관성을 다루고 있다. 첫째 묵자는 그는 우주 사랑의 원리를 두고, 모든 이에게 이익이 되는지 아니면 일부사람들의 이익을 남용하는지 시험하였다. 그런데 그의 겸애설은 독창적인 이론이라기 보다는 공자의 ‘인’ 사상에 대한 보편적 실행의 추구에서 비롯되었다고 할 수 있다. 두 번째 양주는 공적인 일의 우려와 위험보다는 개인적 삶의 평안을 선택한 첫 번째 사람이라 할 수 었다. 내면의 완성을 추구한 그의 철학은 신비적인 면을 갖고 있지는 않기에 공자의 후기 철학에 나타난 현실적 삶의 면모를 보여준다.
어떠한 철학적 사유형태도 독창적이며 배타적인 사유로 시작 될 수는 없다. 오히려 공유하고 있는 개념으로부터 의미를 새롭게 발견하는 일이나 기존 개념의 한계를 지적하고 이를 대신할 새로운 개념을 발견하는 일이 비판적 사유의 발단이 될 수 있다. 따라서 이러한 비판적 사유는 대립적 관계나 보완 계승적 관계로 나타날 수 있다. 중국철학사에서 나타난 양묵의 비판적 사유는 서로의 철학적 경향성에 대해서 비판하면서고 공자철학의 한계를 밝히는데 있어서 공통점을 갖고 있다. 한계를 밝히는 일은 상관성의 정도를 결정하는 일이기도하다. 이런 까닭으로 양묵의 철학을 공자철학과의 상관성안에서 이해하는 것이 필요하다. 또한 양묵의 비판철학은 공자에 대한 직접적인 비판이라기보다는 유자들에 의하여 수용되고 이해된 공자철학, 즉 유가 철학의 비판이라 할 수 있다. 그러므로 이들의 비판에서 공자철학에 대한 새로운 이해의 가능성이 열려있음을 간과 할 수 없다. 이점에서 양묵 철학에서 공자 철학에 대한 비판적 계승의 가능성을 확인하게 된다.

Confucius' cultural Hermeneutic (II)
Critical Successors: Mozi(墨子) and Yangzi(楊子)
This is Part II of the research series of "Confucius’ cultural Hermenetic : Speciality and its History of Influence," which examines that in what way Confucius Philosophy has influenced the later generations. This above study sketches the influence of Confucius Philosophy on the Three Dynasties and Duke of Zhu, the elements of Confucius Philosophical thoughts could be seen in Confucian Analects. This research paper is an attempt to see that how the Confucius Philosophical thoughts has drawn an inference on the succeeding generations. The philosophical theme of this study is to see the difference in the nature of influence on Mozi and Yangzi philosophy in relation to the Confucius Philosophical. First, Mozi philosophy focuses on the universal love, respect for traditional customs, public institutions policies and its effect on the common people's life. It can be said that in one way or other he is in constant pursuit of the concept of universal "perfect virtue" of the Confucius philosophy. Secondly, for Yangzi a life of peace and tranquility is more important than the daily life of a public official full of concern and anxiety. His philosophy of pursuance for inner perfectness does not hold any mystery and Confucius aspect of practical life is quite visible in his later period of life.
Any philosophical thought don't develop in a vacuum and can't give rise to a thought independently. New thoughts are the interpretations of the existed thoughts in a different time and space to come up with new meanings attached to it. Critical interpretations may lead to contradictory or complimentary viewpoints but it further give rise to new thoughts. Say for example Mozi and Yangzi have contrasting views on Confucius philosophy but they themselves appear to be in contract to each other which gave rise to new thoughts in the coming time. In fact, the critical views of Mozi and Yangzi on Confucianism is not the criticism of Confucius itself but his disciples who wrote about Confucius philosophy according to their own understanding and interpretation. The critical interpretations of Mozi and Yangzi cannot be simply overlooked because it created a possibility for a new aspect of the interpretation of Confucianism. Therefore, it can be said that Mozi and Yangzi critical philosophical thought set a new path for negative-critical succession for interpretation.
Mozi and Yangzi philosophy influenced the next generation thinkers in a big way and it gave rise to a new critical interpretation of their thoughts. Especially, Mingzi and Zhangzi against Mozi and Yangzi had a positive critical interpretation of Confucian philosophy. So, one can say that this positive-critical interpretation of Confucianism would not have been possible in the absence of the negative-critical interpretation of Mozi and Yangzi.
