마을의례의 창출과 무형문화재 지정 과정을 통해 본 ‘원형’과 ‘전형’담론의 지형 －서울 우이동 ‘삼각산도당제’를 중심으로－

국문 초록 (Abstract)

삼각산도당제의 사례는 원형주의에 대한 문제제기와 함께 무형문화유산의 전승을 실천해 나가는 공동체의 문화적 자율성을 어떻게 보장해야 할 것인가에 대한 질문을 던져주고 있다. 동시에 의례의 원형과 전승주체를 둘러싼 논쟁은 지난 반세기 동안 정착되어왔던 문화재보호법의 시스템이 만들어낸 결과임을 부인할 수 없을 것이다.따라서 원형과 종목으로 표상되는 무형문화재의 체계가 그것을 실천해나가는 ‘사람들’ 혹은 ‘공동체’로 전환되지 않는 한 도대체 무엇을 보호하고 무엇이 본질적인 가치인가에 대한 질문은 계속될 수밖에 없을 것이다. 곧 이러한 관점은 무형문화유산이 의례의 형식적 집착이 아니라 그것에 대한 의미를 지속적으로 만들어가고 수정해나가는 인간행위자(Human agent)에 대해 더 관심을 가져야 한다는 것에 대한 강조이기도 하다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The case of the Ui-dong village ritual raises issues about the discourse of ‘originality’ of intangible cultural heritage and the cultural autonomy with regard to the practice of the ritual. At the same time, the controversy surrounding the originality of Ui-dong village ritual and the initiative of transmission can not be denied that the Cultural Properties Protection Act system in Korea has been caused by such contradictions. Therefore, if the protection system of intangible cultural heritage is not changed emphasizing the originality of form and limited category into focusing on ‘people’ or ‘communities’ that have practiced their traditions, disputes over what are the objects to be protected and what would be intrinsic values will be continued. In this sense, the important point for the safeguarding of the intangible cultural heritage is not the formal obsession, but is in the human agents that are going to continue to make new meanings.
