춘계 이종성 박사의 구원론에 관한 연구 = A Study of Dr. Jong-Sung Lee`s Soteriology

This paper is a study of Dr. Jong-Sung Rhee``s soteriology. Jong-Sung Rhee(1922~2011) was born on April 8, 1922, in a small village Gyeongsangbuk-do Province in the southeastern park of Korea. He died on October 2, 2011. His Father was a farmer and his grandfather was a strong Confucian. Although the family suffered from financial hardship they did everything possible to educate their children. At a very young age, even before entering primary school, Rhee``s grandfather taught him to read and write Chinese characters. The family faithfully observed all of the annual Confucian ancestral rituals(chesa, 祭祀) and Rhee learned the Confucian values of filial piety towards his family and loyalty towards his country. By Jong-Sung Rhee the order of salvation(ordo salutis), beginning in predestination and ending in glorification, represents not a chronological sequence, but a logical one. The predestination clearly precedes the others, as calling, justification, sanctification, and glorification. The Holy Spirit plays the important role in the order of salvation. Because the Holy Spirit takes all things of Christ, and gives them to us. Jong-Sung Rhee can be regarded as reformed theologian in the Presbyterian Church of Korea(PCK). He was a founder of the holistic theology in Korea.
