This thesis examined and studied in general the Constitution of Korean Bible Mission Inc. in comparison with the Charter of Korean Bible Mission Inc. and with the constitutions of other major denominations in Korea, especially the constitution of the General Assembly of Presbyterian Church in Korea (Hapdong). Then it suggested a revision of the constitution.
This thesis has found that the Constitution of Korean Bible Mission Inc. has a character of both an incorporation and a church or mission organization reflecting the character of Korean Bible Mission Inc. It also has found that the Constitution of Korean Bible Mission Inc. in general has only brief prescriptions, which are surely needed for church administrations, than the constitutions of other denominations in Korea, in creed, organization, administration, and offices. This aspect has merits and demerits. One of its merits is that having brief regulations the churches of Korean Bible Mission Inc. have discretions and flexibility to meet more quickly new changes of the situations than the churches of other denominations. And this aspect will also help realizing the purposes of the incorporation to exclude ecclesiastical authoritative powers and to maintain the interdenominational character of the church. However, this can also bring more confusion in administrations of the church in lack of precise regulations. Nevertheless, this weak point can be complemented gradually with full discussions later in keeping with development of the incorporation.
This thesis has examined major characteristics and issues of the Constitution of Korean Bible Mission Inc., especially in its overall forms and structures. Therefore, there should be more in-depth and more concrete examinations of each prescriptions of the Constitution on the basis of this study for development of the Constitution and the churches of the incorporation.
