신화의 가능세계와 의미론 : 가능세계의 특성과 관계를 중심으로 = Possible world and Semantic of Mythology : focusing on the features and accesbility relations of the possible world

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The inner principle of the myth-texts makes us grasp the features and construct the semantics system of mythology. According to possible world semantics, there are three worlds associated with text, actual world, textual actual world and textual referential world. As with general fictions, textual referential worlds does not match the actual worlds in the myths. And myths have self referentiality as with fictions, so textual actual worlds and textual referential worlds are a match. Then the fact that actual worlds match textual actual worlds makes us distinguish the myths from general literature texts in that respect.

Historic fictions(true fiction) which actual worlds match textual actual worlds fill in the gap of information with every probabilities. On the other hand, unrealistic and fantastic affairs in myths should be reintegrated in actual worlds, because they are very essential and natural. When compared with fantasy, the purpose and main idea of fantasy is to create new and alternative worlds but that of myth is to bring the unrealistic worlds into the actual worlds. So myths recenter possible worlds as actual worlds in textual universe. And to understand the possible worlds in myths is to construct semantics system distinguishing the nature of myth itself.
