한문고전과 근대 문체의 성립 과정, 한·일 비교연구의 관점에서

국문 초록 (Abstract)

당대의 현안이나 정치, 사회적 문제를 다루는 사고와 논리의 개진은 막은 채, 단면적 기능인을 양성하는 것이 1910년대 총독부 교육/언론정책의 성격이었다. 그리고 월간지 <신문계>의 독자투고 문장은 이 정책에 동조하는 당대의 글쓰기와 작문교육이 어떤 양상이었는지를 구체적으로 보여주는 주요한 자료이다. 그것은 전반적으로 독자적 논거와 논리를 개발할 수 없는 가운데, 전근대적인 한문고전의 체법을 운용하는 제한된 수사적 흥취에 매몰된 글쓰기였다. 말미에 첨부한 부록에 잘 나타나듯이 신문계 독자투고 문장의 성격에서는 계몽기 국한문체에서 진행되었던 국문위주의 글쓰기에 대한 지향도 찾아보기 힘들었다. 그러므로 “新文”이라는 이름 아래 자연과학이나 상업, 공업, 체육 등의 근대적 가치를 내세워 고전적 규범에서 벗어난 ‘실용’과 ‘통속’의 글쓰기를 취지로 내세웠지만, 그 투고 문장과 작문 지도의 실상은 그 취지에 값하지 못했던 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The characteristic of Joseon Government　General's education and press policy in 1910s is not the cultivation of intellects but mainly the fostering of a wright cannot contemplate the social, political pending issue multilaterally. Submitting writings to the correspondence column of a monthly magazine, The World of New Culture are representative texts, revealing actual aspects of writing education cooperative with Joseon Government's policy. They hardly present own independent basis of argument and logics but indulging the rhetoric pleasure of pre-modern classics's formality in Classical-Chinese mostly. According to the appendix statics of mine, showing their stylistic aspects, they also do not succeed the effort to expand Korean word usage in writing, which is improving in Korean-Chinese styles during modern enlightenment era. Although, under the name of new culture, the magazine aims the renovation of writing for the general public and also, adjust to practical usage such as commerce, industry and modern education beyond the pre-modern normative rhetorics of classics in Classical-Chinese, its actual writing and writing education are against its name and aim.
