근세 초상화에 나타난 서양 복식의 조형적 특성에 관한 연구 = Research on Formative Characteristics of Western Costume that Appears Modern Time Period Portraits

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This research examines the changes and progress of portraits such painters as Tiziano Vecellio, Hans Holbein the Younger in the Renaissance, and Anthony Van Dyck, Don Diego Rodriguez de silva Velazquez, in the Baroque, and Francois Boucher in the Rococo.
As the result of examination on the main point of this research which is the characteristics of costumes that appear in portraits which is characteristics that is formative. It is examined that formative characteristics are divided into the beauty of the human body and the beauty of decoration. The beauty of body in the Renaissance was expressed as the beauty of health or the voluptuous beauty. The beauty of body was explained through the male costumes at that period that showed natural proportion as planned and that the beauty of art as added to the human body, by emphasizing or reducing parts of the body, so that a new concept of beauty of body made progress. The Baroque costume focused on the sex appeal of women, thus it was called the sensual times. It was regarded as the typical beauty of a women's body is to have a strong erotic attraction through the fascinating appearance of noble women in the Baroque.
The highest reach of beauty of decoration was understood through Madame de Pompadour's over decorated costumes which showed pleasure-seeking costumes of the Rococo. The beauty of decoration in Spain was rigorous and graceful as it was influenced by a time which honoured Catholic tradition as it was seen through the costumes of the Spanish princess, Marie Therese.
