한교폭력 청소년의 원조방안에 관한 연구 = A study and helping plans for violent adolescents in Korean School System

This study aims at the preventing and solving of adolescents` violence occurring around school environment, which is becoming worse these days, by understanding their violent behaviours and helping these student. Adolescent violent tendencies should be examined thoroughly because school-related violences are not confined to the small portion of youngsters who commit terrible crimes, but exert great influences on the lives of more than 50% of the adolescent population. This study puts emphasis on the fact that adults should understand and lend support to violent adolescents rather than focus on the illegal and negative aspects of school violence. This study also deals with the causes of school violence. This ranges from social environments, violent adolescents` life experiences and differing characteristics from those of less turbulent ones. This article shows that the general traits of the adolescent period forms the groud in causing school violence, next violent adolescents` special experiences and individual characteristics have more closely-related influence over it, and finally poor social environment triggers it. Treatment of adolescents` these three violent features that are mentioned above is essential in dealing with school violence. Among them, intervention of adolescents` special experience and individual characteristics is considered the most effective and realistic alternative. For doing this, specific individual treatment and group therapy Programs are suggested. Because support and help of violent adolescents in schools are the most effective and helpful method, I suggest that school social work system that handles these support programs should be implemented as soon as possible.
