1920년대 일본의 문화주택에 대한 고찰 - 1922년 평화기념동경박람회 문화촌과 문화주택의 사례를 중심으로 - = A Study on Culture Village(Bunka Mura) and Culture Houses(Bunka Jutaku) at the 1922 Peace Memorial Exposition in Tokyo

Culture Life Movement and Dwelling Reform Movement crystallized in the form of fourteen houses named Culture Houses(Bunka Jtaku) at the Tokyo Peace Memorial Exposition in 1922. They were erected for the middle class with the purpose of breaking down the ill-effects of the double life and changing into the family-centered houses while heading for western small houses. The concept of Culture Houses had been spreaded out to all the area of Japan through media like magazines, newspapers and books and the suburban developments. It, however, had no choice but to collide against the reality of Japanese life style and find a compromise, going back to the interior corridor plan except a western parlor. After that, the term of Culture Houses were diffused throughout neighboring colonies while disappearing in Japan.
