The objectives of this study is to suggest a new specification of asphalt for pavement and more selection procedure of optimal asphalt binder through the review of superpave technique, the product of Strategic Highway Research Program(SHRP) which is concluded in 1993. As this study considered the conclusion and recommendation of the first year study, the modified asphalt binder which is included the polymer was producted and used to compare the performance to the conventional asphalt mixture in terms of the resilient modulus, the Marshall stability, plastic deformation using the wheel tracking device in the laboratory. The test results showed that the polymer modified asphalt performed better and the resistance of the plastic deformation is significantly improved.
