본 연구는 스포츠 분야의 사후가정 척도를 개발하기 위해서 선수들이 생각하는 사후가정사고가　무엇인지 그리고 그들이 언제, 어디서, 어떤 상황에서 사후가정을 이용하는지에 대해 연구하였다. 스포츠 사후가정의 광의적인 개념이 포함된 타당성 있는 문항을 개발하기 위하여 선행연구를 기반으로 스포츠 사후가정의 요인이 구축된 예비문항을 선별하였으며 이 과정에서 본 자료를 연구에 활용하였다.
