남북 언어 통합 사전으로서의 『겨레말큰사전』 = Gyeoremal-keunsajeon As a Dictionary of Language Integration in South and North Korea

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper examined the characteristics and significance of Gyeoremal-keunsajeon as a unified dictionary for South and North Korea. The concept of language integration was described, and the language integration process that took place upon unification of Germany and the dictionary integrating the language of China and Taiwan was studied. We examined Gyeoremal-keunsajeon as a dictionary of language integration, referring to Preview of Gyeoremal-keunsajeon and the completion guidelines. Gyeoremal-keunsajeon is a dictionary which integrates the language as used in South Korea, in North Korea and in other regions where Korean is used. It is an evolving ‘dictionary in progress’ while the integration of the Korean used in these areas. Gyeoremal-keunsajeon is a significant project in the history of compilation of a Korean language dictionary. The dictionary itself is expected to be a sought after publication in the field of lexicography and as it relates to the history of linguistic culture. Gyeoremal-keunsajeon is a linguistic project which shows the place where we stand now and where we will be in our future.
