      다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study was to investigate associations between the apolipoprotein CⅢ (apo CⅢ) polymorphism and triacylglycerlo (TAG) concentrations in fasting and postprandial plasma. Polymerase chain reaction followed by a restriction fragment length polymorphism was conducted to assess the allele frequency of the apo CⅢ T2854G variants in healthy and normolipidemic men (n=262_. Waist cireumference, body mas index (kg/m^(2)), fasting TAG, total cholesterol, highdensity lipoprotein cholesterol, and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol were measured and compared among the genotypes. Compared to TT homozygotes or TG heterozygotes, GG homozygots had 22% higher fasting TAG concentrations, respectively (ps<0.05). A subgroup of 60 subjects (TT homozygotes=20. TG heterozygotes=22, GG homozygotes=18) were further invited to participate in a high fat-meal test to assess postprandial TAG concentrations among the genotypes. During the high fat-meal test, the GG homozygotes had 21% higher TAG concentrations than the TT homozygotes (p<0.05) and 22% higher TAG concentrations than the TG heterozygotes (p<0.05). In conclusion, this is the first study to report that the rare allele of the apo CⅢ T2854G variants is associated with elevated fasting and postprandial TAG concentrations in this study population.
