국가직무능력표준(NCS) 관점으로 바라본 대학 무용교육전문인 양성교육과정 인식 탐색 = The Perspectives of Dance Education Curriculum of Dance-affiliated Department According to NCS based Curriculum

The purpose of this study is an exploring of the perspectives research for curriculum standards development of dance education leaders by applying National Competency Standards(NCS). In order to understand the dance curricula from the perspective of the instructors and the graduates based on the NCS, the current study conducted interviews on eight college instructors, nine on-site instructors, and eight dance program graduates or soon-to-be graduates, about how they perceive the lectures and instructions provided in the field of dance education. An analysis on the current status of dance instruction program in four-year colleges from the perspective of the NCS showed that the interviewees suffered from the limits caused by technique-oriented classes and the lack of field experience during their undergraduate program. This indicates that college dance programs lack educational elements for field education, and that field-oriented curricula must be developed as required by the NCS. In particular, college-level instructors acknowledged the failure of the current curricula to reflect the realities of the job market, on-site instructors expressed the opinion that the voices from the field must be reflected for the undergraduate students receive classes of higher quality, and the undergraduate students voiced their concern about the lack of courses to education them about their future careers. These results indicate that from the NCS perspective, research should be conducted to understand what roles and features of dance instructors should be nurtured to develop field-oriented curricula, and how to reflect those roles and features to the job competency education in college educational curricula.
