      The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of primary school project-based learning (PBL) on active learners’ academic achievement. In order to analyze the effects of PBL, the analytical objects and methods of analysis were determined and the systematic review of the master s thesis, doctoral dissertation, and academic journal papers published from 2013 to august 2018. From 73 papers, a total of 269 effect sizes were calculated and analyzed. As a result, the overall average effect size of PBL on primary school students academic achievement was 0.726, and the non-overlapping percentile index (U 3 ) was 76.73%, indicating that PBL had a positive effect on improving academic achievement. The interest and attitude toward the subject (0.882) were very significant, and the effect of others were in order of tendency, self-efficacy, creativity, convergent talent capacity, self-directed learning, academic achievement, subject knowledge/ skill. This is statistically significant, indicating that PBL is particularly effective in enhancing interest and positive attitudes toward primary school students curriculum.
