금융 자본의 세계화와 사회과 교육 : 한국의 구조 조정을 중심으로 Focusing on the Economic Restructuring in Korea = Globalization of Financial Capital and Social Studies Education

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 논문에서는 금융자본의 세계화의 내용과 그에 상융하는 국민국가의 역할을 규명하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 또한 그에 따라 세계시민교육과 민주시민교육을 목표로 하고 있는 사회과 교육의 방향 모색을 하려는 것이다. 이 글에서 주장하려고 하는 바는 세계화에 의해서 국민국가의 역할이 축소되기는 하였지만, 그러나 다른 한편으로는 오히려 그 역할이 중요해지고 있다는 것이다. 한국의 경험에 비추어보면 구조조정의 중심에는 여전히 정부가 존재하고 있으며, 구제금융의 대상자도 기업이나 금융기관이 아니라 국가라는 사실이 그것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study purposes to analyze the globalization of financial capital and to evaluate changes in the role of nation states corresponding to the trend. It also proposes the directions for social studies education whose primary goal is to bring up democratic citizens in the globalization era. In this study, we show that although the role of nation states is viewed to be diminishing with glo13alization, it is becoming even more important in other dimensions. In Korea's economic restructuring, for instance, at the center of the restructuring process, there lies the government rather than the firms or financial institutions, both as the subject and as the object.
