아프가니스탄 특별기여자 남성 이주민의 한국사회 적응 경험에 관한 연구 = A Study on Afghan Male Special Contributor Immigrants’ Experiences of Adaption to Korean Society

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 국내에 입국한 아프가니스탄 특별기여자인 남성 이주민들의 한국사회 적응 경험을 분석해 보고, 가족 단위로 이주한 이들의 사회적 적응과 사회통합에 기여할 수 있는 사회복지 정책과 실천의 논의점을 찾는데, 목적을 두었다. 이것을 위해 이 연구는 아프가니스탄 특별기여자 남성 이주민 6명을 질적 사례연구 방법을 적용하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 도출된 10개의 상위 범주는 ‘무슬림에 대한 한국사회의 수용적 태도’, ‘상대적으로 안정된 법적 보장과 지위’, ‘기대와 너무 다른 한국에서의 초라한 현실’, ‘차별적 태도’, ‘언어적 소외’, ‘일자리로부터의 소외’, ‘바닥난 재정’, ‘부양가족들이 직면한 문제’, ‘한국 정부에 대한 아쉬움’, ‘지원 욕구’로 나타났다. 이 연구는 도출한 연구 결과 및 논의점을 토대로, 아프가니스탄 특별기여자 남성 이주민과 그 가족의 한국사회 적응을 지원하기 위한 몇가지 제언 방안을 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the experiences of Afghan male special contributor immigrants adapting to Korean society and derive discussion points for social welfare policies and practices that can contribute to the social adaptation and social integration of those who have immigrated to Korea as familes. To this end, the study analyzed six Afghan male special contirbutor immigrants using a qualitative case study method.
The 10 parent categories derived from the analysis were: ‘acceptance of Muslims in Korean society,’‘relatively stable legal guarantees and status,’ ‘shabby reality in Korea far different from expectations,’ ‘discriminatory attitudes,’ ‘linguistic alienation,’ ‘alienation from jobs,’ ‘depleted household finances,’ ‘problems faced by dependents,’ ‘frustration with the Korean government,’ and ‘need for support.’ Based on the findings and discussion points, this study suggests several recommendations to support the adaptation of Afghan male special contributior immigrants and their families to Korean society.
