    In this paper, the question is raised whether Calvinistic predestination explains the responsibility for the decisions of a moral creature, for it claims everything is decided only by God`s decrees. Alternatives to this matter are offered in Molina`s middle knowledge and Tiessen`s Calvinistic middle knowledge. However, Lee Sung-ho and Campbell disagree with these. To clarify the distinctions between these views, it is necessary to investigate the claims of these four scholars. The results are as follows. First, the explanation of free will in Molina`s middle knowledge is libertarian. Such free will is unreasonable because it is impersonal. Secondly, because Lee contends that man can choose the way of salvation if God makes a circumstance adequate for him, his view that middle knowledge violates the principle of sola gratia seems to be legitimate. Thirdly, although Campbell`s view that middle knowledge threatens God`s aseity seems partly legitimate, it is not perfectly correct. For it is God Himself who gave the moral creature free will, and aseity does not imply that God is the only actor nor does it exclude the free behavior of the creature. Fourthly, Campbell`s opinion that middle knowledge is absorbed into natural knowledge cannot be accepted, for it is contradictory to his own contention that middle knowledge is posterior to God`s decree. Finally, although Tiessen`s Calvinistic middle knowledge persuasively explains the compatibility of human free will and God`s sovereignty, but, it cannot effectively interpret biblical passages to mean that God touched human minds. In my view, it is desirable to leave room for mystery regarding God`s sovereignty and human free will. Nevertheless, Tiessen`s attempt to explain this inexplicable issue as rationally as he has should be assessed affirmatively.

Alternatives to this matter are offered in Molina`s middle knowledge and Tiessen`s Calvinistic middle knowledge. However, Lee Sung-ho and Campbell disagree with these.
