Due to continuous development of digital network technology, information and knowledge has been enormously increased quantitatively as well as qualitatively, This current change has made knowledge, generated by learning activities, the most powerful source of econom-ics in a knowledge-based society, Therefore, every individual in a knowledge-based society must obtain an ability of generating knowledge. That means, ability to quickly collect neces-sary information and transform it into meaningful knowledge for a daily use has become a core ability for every individual. Current change in a society demands strongly that educa-tion should allow an individual to 00 an active learner who interprets the environmental changes and grants value to generate and construct usable knowledge. In this paper, the knowledge constructing process has been investigated. Cognitive learn-ing processes and individual differences have been observed, measured, and analyzed using qualitative research approaches. Wholistic and extensive description of the results has en-lightened the detailed knowledge construction process. The results of the research are summarized as follows: First, the result of investigating individual knowledge construction process shows that knowledge is constructed with the process of aoquiring the information from the outside world, linking the relevant information with the existing knowledge and being constructed through transformation. Futhermore, self-monitoring activities are identified as an important factor which activates the knowledge construction process. Second, the result identifies individual difference factors that influence the knowledge con-struction. Individual``s metacognitive ability, learning strategies and motivation are found to 00 the factors influencing the knowledge construction.
