청소년의 초기 비행과 지속적 비행에 대한 영향 요인 = Factors related to the Beginning Delinquent Behavior and the Continuous Delinquent Behavior in Early Adolescence

The purposes of this study were to examine the difference of adolescents` adaptation by degrees of the delinquent behavior continuity and the factors which affect on the beginning delinquent behavior and the continuous delinquent behavior in early adolescence. We conducted survey twice to obtain the data. In this study, we defined the beginning delinquent behavior as which was not shown delinquent behavior at first survey but was shown delinquent behavior at second survey. The continuous delinquent behavior was defined as which was shown delinquent behavior at first and second survey. The subjects of this study were 497 adolescents attending middle schools in Pusan. The data was collected by longitudinal research design of 9 month interval. The results were as follows: (1) The adaptation differences by degrees of the delinquent behavior continuity were significant. Non-delinquents reported higher adaptation than did continuous delinquents and beginning delinquents. (2) The beginning delinquent behavior was affected by the parents - adolescents communication and the student`s grade point average. (3) The continuous delinquent behavior was affected by the home self- esteem and the number of peer delinquents.
