환경정책 시사점 도출을 위한 소비자 쓰레기 재활용행태의 결정요인에 관한 연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 지역주민들의 쓰레기 재활용 행태에 초점을 맞추어 재활용 행태의 결정요인을 실증적으로 분석해 본 연구이다. 먼저 인간행태의 주요이론과 재활용에 관한 선행연구들을 토대로 인과모형을 설정해 보았다. 본 연구의 인과모형에 포함된 변수들로는 재활용 태도, 재활용 정서, 재활용 관심도, 주관적 규범, 재활용 경험 그리고 재활용 행동 등이다.

본 연구에서는 인과모형을 검증하기 위해 지역주민들을 대상으로 표본추출하여 실증적으로 분석해 보았다. 실증분석 결과, 재활용 태도, 재활용 정서, 재활용 경험 등이 재활용 행위에 유의미한 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 주관적 경험은 재활용 관심도가 높은 경우에 유의미한 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 재활용 관심도의 조절효과 분석에서는 재활용 관심도가 재활용 태도→ 재활용 행위, 재활용 정서 → 재활용 행위 사이의 관계에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

본 연구에서는 이러한 분석결과를 토대로 이론적 정책적 함의를 제시하였다. 본 연구에서 제시한 정책들로는 재활용 태도를 적극적으로 조성시키거나 변화시키기 위한 커뮤니케이션 전략이 필요하며, 그러한 전략은 대상 집단의 특성에 따라 세분화하여 추진되어야 함을 지적하였다. 이것은 인센티브에 토대를 두고 있는 종량제의 한계를 극복하기 위한 행태적 접근방법을 제시한 것이다. 또한 지역차원에서는 다양한 재활용 조직화, 환경교육의 체험화 등의 노력을 기울려야 할 것이라는 점을 지적하였다.

This study attempts to identify some of the determinants of Local Residents' waste recycling behavior. In this study, the causal model for recycling behavior is established based on prior research and TPB. The findings of this research indicate that attitudes toward recycling, affection toward recycling and recycling behavior has a significant effect on waste recycling behavior. And subjective norm has a significant effect on waste recycling behaviors if only concern toward recycling ie. attitude strength is strong. Moderator analyses show that for waste recycling behaviors, affect plays a lesser role when concern toward recycling is strong. This paper discusses theoretical and public policy implications based on these findings.
