성별과 성역할 고정관념이 자기결정성에 미치는 영향의 종단분석 = 초·중학교급에서의 변화를 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 초등학교 4학년에서 중학교 2학년까지 청소년의 성역할 고정관념, 자기결정성의 변화에서의 성차를 살펴보고 성별 및 성역할 고정관념과 자기결정성의 초기치 및 변화율 간의 구조적 관계를 종단분석으로 확인하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 한국청소년정책연구원(Korea Youth PanelSurvey: KYPS)의 초등학교 4학년 패널자료를 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 남성역할 고정관념은 초등학교 4학년에서 초등학교 6학년까지 매년 감소하다가 중학교 진학 후 중학교 2학년까지 증가하는 것으로 나타났으며, 여성역할 고정관념은 초등학교 4학년부터 중학교 2학년까지 지속적으로 감소하였는데 초등학교에서의 감소속도가 중학교에서의 감소속도보다 더 빠른 것으로 나타났다. 성역할 고정관념의 성차를 분석한 결과 여학생의 남성역할 및 여성역할 고정관념이 남학생보다 낮았고 그 변화율 폭도 큰 것으로 확인되었다. 자기결정성은 초등학교 4학년부터 중학교 2학년까지 매년 증가하는 것으로 나타났으며 남성역할 고정관념 초기치가 높을수록 자기결정성 수준도 높았으나 여성역할 고정관념은 그 반대로 나타났다. 또한 남성역할 고정관념의 초등학교급 변화율은 자기결정성의 변화율에 정적 영향을 주는 반면 여성역할 고정관념의 초등학교급 변화율은 자기결정성 변화율에 부적 영향을 미쳤다. 본 연구 결과를 바탕으로 교육적 시사점이 논의되었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of the study was to investigate longitudinally the effect of gender role stereotype on self-determination with focusing on gender differences over five years from 4th grade to 8th grade. In this study, the five wave data of elementary 4th graders of Korea Youth Panel Survey(KYPS) was used. The results showed that masculine gender role stereotype decreased during the late elementary school years whereas it increased during middle school years. However, feminine gender role stereotype continually decreased and the decreasing rate was faster in the late elementary school than middle school years. In addition, the initial level of female students`gender stereotype was lower and their gender stereotype decreased faster than male students. Self-determination increased in every year during the late elementary and middle school years. The multivariate latent growth model revealed that the initial level of self-determination was also higher as the initial level of masculine gender role stereotype was higher. On the contrary, as the level of feminine gender role stereotype was higher, the level of self-determination was lower. In addition, as the masculine gender role stereotype increased and feminine gender role stereotype decreased, self-determination increased. The implications of findings and future research were discussed.
