BPM시스템 도입 효과와 기업경영성과와의 관계 : 기업성과, 개인성과, 품질에 미치는 영향을 중심으로

As the business process management methodology became introduced in 2000, many companies until now have introduced the business process management and the companies who stuck with their previously used management techniques are sooner or later going to adopt the BPM in the future. However, after the business process management was introduced in 2000, there have been conducted only the case studies about the companies who adopted BPM system and the studies based on the technical aspect of IT technology. There are few studies done on the aspect of business administration and management. Especially, few studies have examined the effects of introducing the BPM system and the factors that are related to those effects.
The purpose of this study is to show the effective factors for introducing BPM system and how these effective factors affected the corporate results through demonstrative analysis, in an endeavor to provide help to the corporations who have already established BPM system or are planning to introduce it. Also, by additionally verifying how the effective factors of BPM system affect the individual performance of the workers within a company and its product quality, this study aims to provide a basis for the studies about BPM system.
For demonstrative studies, the companies listed in the previous studies and literatures related to BPM system and the companies introduced about their BPM system through newspapers, broadcasters and the Internet were selected. Among them, 18 companies who introduced BPM system were surveyed, and the surveys were collected from 12 companies. Among the 300 surveys distributed, 82 surveys were collected (collection rate: 27%), among them 6 surveys, either not responsive or inappropriate, were removed and total 76 surveys were put to analysis.
The statistical processing of the collected data was carried out using SPSS 12.0 for windows package, and the major analytical methods were factor analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis were used.
As a result of analysis, the effective factors of BPM system were shown to be relatively significant on the individual and corporate performance, but among the effective factors of introduction, the effect of minimizing the IT gap did not have any significant influence. Also, there was no significant effect in the aspect of product quality. This result is due to the fact that the end-users lacked the understanding of IT and the unstable establishment of BPM system. These problems will be solved, from a long-term investor’s point of view, by the stable integration of BPM system that will occur eventually.
This study examined the impacts of the effective factors of the companies who have introduced BPM system on the corporate outcomes and suggest their relationship to the factors in product quality and variables in individual performance. By doing so, this study gains its significance in that it contributes to making people realize the effective factors and the variables in the introduction of BPM system in order to improve the corporate performance and achieve it more efficiently.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

비즈니스 프로세스 관리 방법론이 2000년대 소개가 되면서 현재까지 수많은 기업들이 비즈니스 프로세스 관리를 도입했으며, 기존까지 지속적으로 사용해오던 수많은 경영관리 기법들로 프로세스 관리를 운영해 오던 기업들도 추후 비즈니스 프로세스 관리(BPM)를 도입 할 예정이다. 그러나 2000년대 이후 비즈니스 프로세스 관리 방법론이 소개된 이후 현재 국내기업을 대상으로 BPM시스템 도입에 관한 사례 연구와 테크닉적인 IT기술에 기반을 둔 연구만이 이루어져 있을 뿐, 경영관리측면에서의 연구가 매우 미비한 실정이다. 특히 BPM시스템의 도입 효과요인과 관련성에 대한 연구는 미미한 상태이다.
본 연구의 목적은 BPM시스템 도입 효과요인을 밝혀내고 BPM시스템 효과요인이 기업성과에 미치는 영향을 실증 분석하여 BPM시스템을 구축하였거나 또는 도입하고자 하는 기업에게 도움을 제공하고자 하는 것이다. 더불어 BPM시스템의 효과요인이 기업 내 조직원들의 개인성과측면과 품질측면에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 추가적으로 검증하여 BPM시스템 관한 연구의 기초를 제공하고자 한다.
실증 연구를 위해 BPM시스템 관련 선행 연구논문과 참고문헌 중 사례연구에 수록된 대상 기업들과 신문이나 방송 등 매스컴과 인터넷을 통해 BPM시스템 관련 사례를 소개한 기업들을 대상으로 18여 BPM시스템 도입 업체를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 12개 업체로부터 설문지를 회수하여 총 300부를 배부, 82부를 회수(회수율: 27%)하였고, 그 중 부분적으로 무응답 및 분석에 부적합한 설문지 6부를 제외한 76부를 분석하였다.
회수된 자료의 통계적 처리는 SPSS 12.0 for Windows 패키지를 사용하여 분석 하였으며, 주요 분석 방법으로는 요인분석과 상관관계분석, 회귀분석을 사용하였다.
분석결과 BPM시스템 도입 성과요인이 개인성과에 기업성과에 상대적으로 효과적인 것으로 분석되었으나 도입 성과요인 중 IT갭 최소화 효과는 유의적인 영항을 주지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 품질측면에서 유의적인 영향을 주지 못하는 것으로 분석되었다. 이는 최종 사용자들의 IT에 대한 이해력 부족과 BPM시스템의 불안정적 정착의 요인에서 오는 결과로 해석되며 이러한 요인은 곧 장기적인 투자 관점에서 BPM시스템의 안정적 정착 요인으로 해결될 것이라 판단된다.
본 연구는 비즈니스 프로세스 관리를 도입한 기업의 효과요인을 기업성과 요인 간에 미치는 영향을 파악하고 더불어 품질요인 및 개인성과 변수들과의 관련성을 제시함으로서 기업성과를 높이기 위해서 BPM시스템의 도입효과 요인과 각 변수들의 중요성을 인식시켜 보다 효율적인 기업성과를 달성하는데 기여하고자 하는데 그 의의가 있다.
