The data for this study was coiled from 351 residents in Taegu and Kyongbuk area who had visited to Australia during the period of lst March to 30th July 1995. Questionnaires were sent to a total of 760 Korean tourists to Australia among whom 351 responded, which reflects a return rate of 46.2%. The processed data showed that in general Australia was particularly attractive to the age group between 41-50 market in Taegu and Kyongbuk area, especially housewives daring the period. The most frequent groups were those traveling with spouse (33.9%) and with friends (26.5%). From the tourists' responses mean scores were derived to be used as the general yardstick for assessment (five point scale was used ; very satisfactory 5, satisfactory 4, average 3, unsatisfactory 2, very unsatisfactory 1). The mean far accommodation was 3,54, for hotel service 3.27, for entertainment 3.11, for transportment 3.01, for transportation 32, and for shopping facilities and service 32 respectively. The average expenditure per Korean tourist was 680,000 won, and 54.7% of the total were spent their money on shopping. Accordingly, the average shopping expenditure per Korean tourist was 390,000 won, which is greater than the average shopping expenditure of total Korean overseas travelers (330,000 won). The average entertainment expenditure per person was 320,000 won, which is less than the shopping expenditure. However, the average sightseeing expenditure per Korean tourism was 440,000 won, which is greater than the shopping and entertainment expenditure. Australia's top five features far Korean tourists are (1) beautiful scenery, (2) well developed country, (3) clean environment, (4) kind and friendly people and (5) pleasant climate, as shown in Table 17. A detailed description and analysis of the findings is given in the chapter three. Of special interest is an account of the difficulties and inconvenience factors summarized in Table 18.
